Top AI models score under 1% on a new reasoning test that humans solve easily
A new test called ARC-AGI-3 has been released to measure how well AI can think and solve problems. While humans can solve all tasks right away, even the best AI models struggle, scoring less than 1%.
Labs improved fast on older versions, raising scores from 3% to about 50% in less than a year
The test gives no instructions, so AI must figure out rules and plan from zero
Top scores remain very low, with the best model reaching only 0.37%
This shows that AI still has a big gap in real reasoning skills. At the same time, past progress suggests models may improve quickly, raising questions about whether gains come from true thinking or just more powerful training.

Google Research has revealed TurboQuant, a new algorithm that makes AI models much more efficient. It reduces how much memory they use while also making them run faster, all without needing to retrain the models.
AI models store conversation history, which grows over time and can slow performance and increase costs
TurboQuant reduces memory use by over 6x while keeping almost perfect accuracy, even in complex tests
On Nvidia H100 chips, it delivers up to 8x faster processing and also improves search performance
This shows how smarter software can reduce the need for expensive hardware. Even before wide use, the news already affected AI memory companies, hinting that future systems may rely less on costly memory and more on efficient algorithms.
